Bay View Beer co. — The Studio of Sean Quinn

Bay View Beer Company | Milwaukee, WI

Asked to create a logo for a group of beer brewers looking to take their hobby out of the garage and into the highly competitive craft beer market, I created the identity for Bay View Beer Company.

Naming themselves after their beloved Milwaukee neighborhood, Bay View Beer co. was looking for a design solution that was refined enough to represent the dedication they had to their craft yet timeless and adaptable enough to grow with them into the future.

First Round: to tackle this challenge, I came up with three design directions for the logo.
Versatile badges reminiscent of classic beers, hand-lettered flourished logotypes, and story-driven illustrations.

Concepts one and two resonated the most with the client. I took the strengths of each by creating a hand-lettered logotype that could work in a variety of badge applications. This would allow the brand to flex and adapt to the changing scenarios of a growing company. The logo is a nod to classic Midwestern beers and a tribute to the blue-collar history of the company's namesake and the brewer’s own family heritage.

While I was only asked to create a logo, I created some sample packaging for cans and bottles including a packaging concept inspired by the Wisconsin state bird.
