As a designer for IN Food Marketing & Design, I worked with Canadian client, Pizzey Ingredients, to brand their B2B flaxseed business and help launch a new retail brand.

Flaxseed itself may not be the most exciting, but the Pizzey family sure is. For over 100 years they’ve been farming in western Manitoba—growing crops including flaxseed. Today they are well known as the “flax pioneers”. If this wasn’t enough, they also operate an on-site fully equipped laboratory, staffed with scientists with over 20 years of experience—setting many standards for analysis and processing of flax.

After establishing the parent brand, I developed concepts for their new retail line aimed at health-conscious consumers. This included naming, logo design, and creating a package design for the stand-up pouches they had chosen to use.

The packaging design won an award of excellence from the Communicator Awards back in 2016!
It also just pairs so well with delicious food photography.
